This Mercedes was my first try using a Slot-it chassis. In the central Jutland a race series - called SLEMC - was initiated for cars using this type of chassis. As a body you were free to pick a suitable body of a GT-racer. This meant, that you could use any old GT-car as a base for your project. This being my first try, I would not retired one of my other cars to get a body, so I bought a cheap Artin-racer and used that one as a donor.
The Slot-it chassis was easy to fit in under the body, but the car did not run very well. The body is cast in very thick plastic and it weighs in at almost the double of other bodies. I did not race this car for long before it was retired and my experience in building a body for a Slot-it chassis was used to assemble a lighter - and quicker - SLEMC-racer.
