The Pontiac is made for NASCAR-racing at an oval track. This is only possible at very few tracks in Denmark - but it is very entertaining! The rules are strict and simple: A Scalextric NASCAR is taken straight out of the box and a little weight is added. Notice how the weight is mounted in the left side of the chassis to improve cornering. At an oval you only turn left.
It is a series where you - as in the real NASCAR - races at top speed almost all the time. You have to brake slightly before entering the banked corners, but only a little. It sounds very simple - and perhaps a bit boring - but it is very difficult to find the optimum speed and especially to keep this speed without crashing. And when you crash it is big crashes - justas in the real NASCAR - with cars flying left and right all over the track.
