The Kris Nissen BMW was a contender for the victory during the whole race. At the beginning the team held second, but when the leaders (also a BMW M3, but from the Linder-team), had a puncture which destroyed the suspension, the Schnitzer-BMW of Kris Nissen took the lead. They were never headed again and took victory 5 laps ahead of the second placed car.
