Nicolas Kiesa - DTM 2006

Birthday: 3-3-1978

Nicolas Kiesa began his career in karting. 2 Danish and a Scandinavian Championship founded a graduation to cars which took place in 1998.

From the beginning Nicolas Kiesa went abroad. He entered the british Formula Ford Championship and made his mark with 3rd in the championship in 1998. The promision debut was followed by a succesfull campaign in 1999 netting him the British Formula Ford Championship in dominant style.

Next step was participation in the British Formula 3 Championship. Here Nicolas Kiesa reached 6th in the championship in 2000 but had to leave the championship halfway in 2001 when his team suffered an economical meltdown.

In 2002 Nicolas Kiesa went on to Formula 3000. After one year of acclimatisation he peaked in Monaco 2003 where he won the Formula 3000 race for Team Den Blå Avis. But he did not finish the 2003 Formula 3000 season because he got a drive for Minardi in Formula 1 for the last 5 Grands Prix in 2003.

2004 became a year at the bench. Nicolas Kiesa was contracted to Minardi but did not race. In 2005 he returned behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car as a friday tester for Jordan. But unfortunately this did not develop into a proper race seat. Since then Nicolas Kiesa has not succeeded in returning to Formula 1. This leaves him with some kind of record though - He has finished every Formula 1 race, he has started.

In 2006 Nicolas Kiesa did a few sportscar races driving for Aston Martin and Lister, but this did not lead to a contract. Instead he got a seat in a DTM-Audi as a replacement for the dutchman Jeroen Bleekemolen, but after a few races he broke his leg in a motocross accident and had to give up his seat again. This was his last apperance at international top level motorsport.
